Birthday #2: Circus Style

Jaxon celebrated his 2nd birthday on Dec 11, 2010 with all of his little buddies. We invited Jacob and Grayson from our neighborhood playgroup,Josh from church and our Joplin transplant friends Deven and Kieran. Overall, including parents and the cute Rice twins, there were 17 people in our house!!

We decorated the house with primary colored streamers and balloons. Set out puffcorn, corn dogs, fruit and birthday cupcakes for everyone to snack on and enjoy. We also let all the kids sit on the kitchen floor and get messy with their very own cupcake (Grayson and Josh also wanted to blow out their own candle). But before the cupcake stravaganza we opened up gifts.

Jaxon got a lot of fun toys. Jacob gave Jax a fun LEGO Cars set. He got a cool wooden race car track from Grayson, a neat 'learn to read' Disney book set from Josh, a travel Tonka Chuck garage from Deven and a challenging puzzle set from Kieran.

After presents were opened and the cake was gone, all the kids made their way to our fun room where we'd set up Jax's birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy. In the fun room, they got to play with a tent and tunnel and a cool Elephant ball pit (which Daddy blew up, with his own lungs, minutes before the party!!). The ball pit was a big hit - Thank you, Daddy! We also had a bubble machine, which was awesome but made the kitchen floor slippery so all the boys were slipping and sliding as they chased bubbles. Unfortunately, we had to shut the bubble machine off. We also had a circus cut out with a ring master, clown and lion that everyone could take their picture in. But what may have been the best part of the party were the balloons!

The party was a lot of fun, definitely filled with memories. We are so thankful to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Jaxon's 2nd Birthday.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Jaxon. It is amazing how fast time has flown by but we wouldn't change a minute of it. We love you very very much.
